Tesla – Window Tint

Gone are the days of using old window tint technologies to protect new technology vehicles.

Check Out The Most Common Window Tint Myths/Misconceptions

Despite the outdated notion that the only purpose for Window Tint is to make your windows dark and give you more privacy, our Window Tint Brands provide you with many other benefits than just that one.

All the Films we offer have a Limited Lifetime Warranty and 99% UV Rejection which protects you as well as your interior from harmful UV-Rays. They are also Heat-rejecting, which will be a major benefit to you in warm states like Texas. We are located in Houston and many of our Clients love our high heat-rejecting Window Tint, especially those who have to spend a lot of time on the road.

We test all our products and only offer the best of the best which left us with three different films.

Spectra Photosync, CeraLuxe and Black Pearl.

Total Solar Energy Rejection (TSER) is a total performance measurement factoring in the entire solar spectrum rather than select wavelengths. TSER can be used to accurately compare the total performance of one window film to another whereas single region measurements cannot. We invite you to compare our films’ TSER percentages to any other brand with a matching VLT%; e.g. a VLT 35% film with another VLT 35% film and not a with a VLT 40% film.

With the advent of electric vehicles, power consumption increases dramatically when the AC unit is in use. This can zap 3%-5% of the range from electrical vehicles. What if you can dramatically reduce the amount of heat entering the cabin and improve your EV range?

The most advanced technology in automotive window film comes in our Spectra PhotoSync IRD® Series. Utilizing our patent-pending nano technology, our lines of window films block out more solar radiation than any other film on the market. Achieving IRR (infrared radiation rejection) upwards of 99% through 2200nm, there is no other window tint manufacturer that is able to achieve this.  Total Solar Energy rejection achieved is up to 80% and yet able to retain maximum visibility.

Extreme climates can significantly affect the range in your electric car.  When it is hot, you turn up your AC.  When it is cold, you turn up the heater.  Both can zap the range of your electric car by 5%.  Spectra Photosync IRD® will reduce cabin temperatures in the summer time; thus, allowing for the AC use to be reduced.  During winter months, cold temperatures can cause a range reduction by 35%-40%.  With Spectra Photosync’s heat retention technology, you will retain more heat and use less of your heater to keep the cabin warmer.

The solar spectrum consists of 3 main properties: Ultraviolet, Visible light, and Infrared Rays (IR). IR accounts for 53% of the spectrum, so PhotoSync’s® high 99% IR rejection rate serves as a constant measure of product performance. The technological advances of Prestige’s coatings allows for high performance of Spectra PhotoSync IRD® without the use of any metallics, which means no interference of wireless transmission signals (e.g. GPS, cell signals, radio waves, keyless entry systems, satellite, etc.). PhotoSync® will continuously produce up to 99% IR rejection between 950nm-2200nm and guaranteed to not lose its performance over time.

Spectra PhotoSync®, also rejects 99.5% of ultraviolet rays (both UVA and UVB), which means occupants and the interior components of your vehicle are protected from harmful UV rays.

The technological improvements of the 21st century spurred a new automotive era. An era that has driven auto manufacturers into a technological race that has not been witnessed before. From wireless broadband to advancements in driverless vehicles, the world around us has never been more reliant on technological connectivity.

Prestige Film Technologies, as a specialty coatings and thin film manufacturer, has designated over 2 years into developing CeraLuxe Quantum Ceramic® Window Film. This product was created with our advanced coating technologies to achieve results that match the technology of current and future vehicles. A product that can produce significant heat rejection, yet remain relatively clear for day or night use while accomplishing this with low reflectivity. The science behind this new product would not reduce any form of
electronic signals including: 3G or 4G broadband wireless, keyless entry systems, AM / FM, GPS, bluetooth, mobile phone, etc.

CeraLuxe Quantum Ceramic®, utilizes quantum science to integrate our proprietary Nano-IR technology to work with pure-ceramic substrates to achieve high visible light transmission and high solar radiation rejection. Our technology is also inclusive of a color stable composition that means No Color Fading . Prestige\'s dedication and technological superiority makes CeraLuxe Quantum Ceramic® a world-class performing solar control window film.

My Model X comes with tint in the back windows, do I still need to tint them?

The Model X rear windows do come darker from factory, but there's no actual window film on the glass--the glass itself is just darker. There's no real heat rejection properties. The darker shade may help with a bit of the heat, but it's very minimal compared to an actual high heat window film like Photosync or Ceraluxe. If your main concern is heat rejection and keeping your X cooler, tinting those windows is a must.

Can you match the front 2 windows to the back on Model X?

While maintaining the legal limits in Texas, it's not possible. The front 2 windows need to read at least 25% when an officer tests your windows. The back windows are typically about 15-20%.

I've heard the rear window of the Model 3 can't be tinted because of the size. Is that true?

We tint the rear window of the 3 on a daily basis with no issues.

I hear the Model 3 front windshield can't be tinted due to the electronics in the front. Is that true?

We can tint the front windshield of the Model 3. Yes, there are electronics in the front and even though we take great care and caution while tinting the windshield, clients who want it tinted have to understand there's always a risk.

Do I need to tint the sunroof on my Model 3? Doesn't it come with built in UV/IR rejection?

If your main concern is heat rejection, then we recommend getting it tinted. There may be some built in UV/IR rejection properties from Tesla, but we definitely still feel some heat up top, and the amount of Model 3 owners that come and get it tinted reinforces what we've noticed too.

Will I still be able to put a registration sticker and EZtag on my front windshield if I get it tinted?

Does the tint affect any of the cameras or sensors on my Tesla?

No, it does not.

Will I notice an improvement in my range?

Our clients have reported improvements in their kilowatt usage due to their A/C not having to work as hard to maintain a comfortable interior temperature. Clients report that this has greatly helped when doing long road trips from city to city.
