What is the Tesla Cybercab? Designed by Franz von Holzhausen and built at Gigafactory Texas in Austin, the Tesla Cybercab is a purpose-built, two-passenger battery-electric autonomous liftback coupe with butterfly doors, a large central touchscreen, a 20.2 cu ft trunk, and no steering wheel, pedals, side mirrors, or rear window. Powered by Tesla Vision cameras and Full Self-Driving (FSD) Unsupervised v15, it achieves ~293 miles of range from a 48 kWh battery pack.

Consumer Education Guide

How the Tesla CyberCab works.

Compiled from official Tesla Robotaxi documentation and verified regulatory filings.

100% Autonomous Cabin

Unlike adapted passenger cars, Cybercab is engineered from the ground up without a steering wheel, pedals, side mirrors, or rear glass. Riders summon the car in the Tesla Robotaxi app, verify the license plate, step through the automatic butterfly doors, buckle up, and tap Start Ride on the center touchscreen or app.

FSD Unsupervised & Camera Vision

Instead of expensive rooftop lidar domes, Cybercab navigates city streets, highways, intersections, and parking lots using Tesla Vision optical cameras and neural networks running Full Self-Driving (FSD) Unsupervised v15 on next-generation Tesla AI hardware, paired with an integrated flush roof-mounted Starlink V5 antenna.

“Unboxed” Manufacturing & Gold Body

Built at Gigafactory Texas using Tesla’s modular “unboxed” assembly process with roughly half the parts of a Model 3. Its signature gold exterior panels use reaction injection molding rather than traditional paint to cut production time and repair cost, targeting a vehicle life of 500,000 miles.

Record 6.1 mi/kWh Efficiency

With a narrow two-seat aerodynamic teardrop profile (<0.20 drag coefficient) and a 3,113 lb curb weight, Cybercab consumes just 165 watt-hours per mile — delivering ~293 miles of EPA preliminary range from a compact 47.6–48 kWh 4680 battery pack and a 219 hp front-wheel-drive motor.

DC Supercharging & Wireless Pads

Production Cybercabs feature a concealed NACS port for high-speed DC Supercharging and are engineered for Tesla’s upcoming >90%-efficient inductive wireless charging hubs, allowing autonomous fleet vehicles to drive over a pad and recharge without human intervention.

Built-In Accessibility

Designed to serve all riders: upward-opening butterfly doors and bench seats positioned at standard wheelchair height (16.5″ step-in) make transfers easier. The 20.2 cu ft rear hatchback trunk fits wheelchairs or two check-in suitcases plus two carry-ons, and the cabin includes Braille controls, voice commands, and space for service animals.

EVS Motors Houston · CyberCab Program

What EVS Motors will offer for CyberCab owners & Houston fleets.

With Tesla Robotaxi already operating in Houston and Austin, high-mileage autonomous vehicles need durable exterior protection, heat rejection for Texas summers, and rapid turnaround tire, suspension, and collision care.

PPF & Fleet Color Wraps

Self-healing Inozetek INOClear+ and LLumar Valor paint protection film to shield the Cybercab’s nose, butterfly doors, and camera housings from rock chips, plus Inozetek color-change wraps and commercial fleet branding.

PhotoSync IRD Ceramic Window Tint

Without a human driver, cabin cooling efficiency directly impacts battery range. We will install Prestige Spectra PhotoSync IRD and Inozetek Relzon IR ceramic window tint on the Cybercab’s expansive windshield and butterfly door glass to cut solar heat load in Houston traffic.

Aero Wheels, Tires & Alignment

High-mileage Robotaxi duty demands precision alignment to maximize tire life and Wh/mi efficiency. We provide leverless tire mounting (Corghi Artiglio 500), Hunter Road Force balancing, and $285 Hofmann Geoliner 660 4-wheel alignments.

Interior Protection & Custom Audio

Heavy-duty all-weather floor and 20.2 cu ft trunk liners, anti-glare screen protection for the center infotainment display, stain-resistant seat coatings, and Morel HiFi audio upgrades for private and VIP Cybercabs.
